Shengu Group Secures Major Compressor Order
Recently, Shengu Group, a leading domestic enterprise in energy power equipment, has
officially signed a major contract in Singapore, winning the procurement order of process
compressors for the Malaysia Petroleum Sepat FPSO floating offshore production project.
This marks another remarkable breakthrough of large-scale domestic process
compressors in the high-end Southeast Asian offshore oil and gas market.
Under the contract, Shengu will supply three large centrifugal process compressors in
total, including two 2BCL457 AG units and one BCL306A GIGL unit. Serving as core power
equipment on the FPSO platform, Units undertake critical tasks including offshore oil and
gas extraction, medium pressurization, stable operation of technological processes.
With long-term operation requirements under harsh marine environments featuring high
salt mist, high humidity, strong wind and waves as well as severe corrosion, the
equipment faces far stricter technical requirements on structural reliability, anti-corrosion
performance, continuous service life and operation stability compared with land-based
industrial machinery.
Known as floating offshore oil and gas factories, FPSO vessels integrate offshore crude oil
extraction, processing, storage and export functions. They are core high-end equipment
for global deep-sea oil and gas development. For a long time, core compressor units for
such projects have been monopolized by international top manufacturers, featuring high
market access threshold, fierce global bidding competition and rigorous technical
certification systems.
Relying on decades of technical accumulation in large centrifugal compressors, full
independent R&D and manufacturing capacity, optimized technologies adapted to
offshore working conditions as well as comprehensive full-cycle delivery and after-sales
service system, Shengu Group outperformed numerous global competitors in the
international tender and gained full recognition from the project owner.

upcoming equipment delivery will facilitate the development of the Sepat offshore oil and
gas field, and set a solid benchmark for high-end intelligent manufacturing equipment
from China marching toward the global high-end market.
