Siemens to deliver 12 compressor trains to Iran

March 2, 2017
Siemens has received an order from EPC Hampa Engineering Corporation for 12 compressor trains for two onshore natural gas processing plants in Iran, which will be operated by Palayesh Parisan Sepehr.

Each of the 12 compressor trains will use a Siemens STC-SV vertical split compressor. Ten of the twelve will be sent to the Fars province in south-central Iran to be used in the Mohr C2+ hydrocarbon recovery plant. Four of the Mohr plant compressors will be driven by Siemens SGT-700 gas turbines, four more will be driven by SGT-100 turbines and the remaining two by an electric motor.

The other two compressor trains are for the Assaluyeh plant in Bushehr Province, which produces ethane, propane and butane. These two trains will each be powered by a Siemens SST-600 steam turbine.

"This is Siemens' first huge oil and gas order since the easing of sanctions in January 2016," said Mohsen Nayebzadeh, CEO of Siemens in Iran. Nayebzadeh said the installations will "help the Iranian people develop a sustainable, affordable, and modern electrification system.”

The compressor trains are expected to be operating commercially by the end of 2018.
